In June 1841, George Bartlett was an independent, aged 55, living by himself at Hardington Marsh.
As the census provides no family context for him, it is difficult to identify who he was.
George may be the son of Robert and Elizabeth Bartlett, born on 20 November 1783. If this identification is correct, he inherited a silver bowl from his mother in 1833.[1]
He may be the George Bartlett who married Elizabeth Genge Bartlett at East Coker on 8 March 1813.
He may have been a farmer until 1823 ot later.
He may have died at Halstock in 1850, aged 76 and been buried at Hardington. However, the recorded age is not consistent with other information.
