In June 1841, Mary Bartlett was an independent, aged 75, probably living in Swins Lane.

Mary was born about 1761 outside Somerset (probably in a Dorset parish near Misterton). Her maiden name was Larcomb.

She married Malachi Baker of Hardington at Misterton on 1 January 1788. They both signed the register with a cross.

They had seven daughters and no sons.

Malachi died in February 1830, aged 76.

On 14 November 1832, Mary married Charles Bartlett at Hardington. She signed with a cross.

Charles died at Hardington in February 1837, aged 69, and was interred at East Chinnock.

In June 1841, Elizabeth and Mary Hackwell were in Mary’s household. They were her daughter and granddaughter.

In 1843, Mary occupied a house at Broad Hill.

Mary died in July 1849, aged 88.
