In April 1871, Ann Mudford, aged 48, was an occupier of a house and orchard at Hardington Marsh.
Ann was born at Hardington in about 1822, the daughter of Michael and Sarah Mudford. Michael lived at Hardington Marsh, where he farmed a few acres (seven in 1851 and eight in 1861). He died in January 1868.
In June 1841, Ann was a servant to a farmer at Yew Tree Close, Yeovil. The census returns of 1851 and 1861 record her as a farmer’s daughter.
Ann was admitted to the Somerset Lunatic Asylum at Wells on 26 March 1881. She died there on 8 April 1881, aged 59.
