In April 1891, Laura Bartlett Leach, aged 33, lived in North Lane on her own means, in the same household as her brother, John, and sister, Ellen.
Early life
Laura was born at Hardington on Christmas Day 1857, the daughter of Robert and Ann Leach. Her father was a retired farmer who moved to Hardington between late 1855 and December 1857. In April 1881, Laura was a dressmaker living with her brother, Albert, at Chickerell.
Her father died on 8 November 1883, leaving an estate valued at £713-2s-1d. She inherited £20 and a one-eleventh share of the residue.
Her mother died on 25 July 1885.
In March 1901, Laura was a dressmaker in business on her own account, living in North Lane with her brother, John.
Married life
In 1910, she married Abraham Partridge, the husband of her sister, Julia Taylor Leach, who died in 1908.
Abraham died on 26 November 1933, aged 89; Laura died in 1943, aged 85.
