In April 1871, Ishmael Cornick was a dairyman at Bridge Close Farm.

Early life

Ishmael, the son of John and Jane, was born at Wells in about 1817. By June 1841, he, his parents, and his brother lived in Stoke Abbott, where Ishmael and his brother were farm labourers and their father was a miller.

Middle years

On 3 August 1843, Ishmael married Mary Ann Warren at Marshwood. She was the daughter of John Warren, a thatcher.

In March 1851, Ishmael was a farm labourer living at Stoke Naps, Stoke Abbott; in April 1861, he was a dairyman at Seaborough; in 1871, he was a dairyman at Bridge Close Farm, Hardington.

Retirement

By April 1881, he and his wife had retired to Mosterton, where they lived for over twenty years before moving to Broadwindsor.

Mary Ann died on 15 August 1902, aged 81; Ishmael died on 24 May 1907, aged 89. There is a memorial inscription to them at Broadwindsor.

Ishmael and his wife had no children.
