In April 1891, Elizabeth Masters was a Dairy Manager at Bridge Close Farm.

Early life in Dorset

Elizabeth, born at Melplash on 24 July 1862, was the daughter of Robert and Susannah. Her father was a dairyman. In April 1871, Elizabeth was with her parents at Netherbury, and in April 1881, with them at Manor Dairy House, Burton Bradstock. Her mother died in January or February 1885, aged only 57.

Life at Hardington

By April 1891, Elizabeth was the dairy manager at Bridge Close Farm. In May 1891, Elizabeth was one of the first students at the Dairy School, Crewkerne.[1]

On 15 January 1892, Elizabeth’s father, Robert Masters, died at Hardington.[2]

Life in Buckinghamshire

By April 1891, Elizabeth’s sister, Susan, worked as a school teacher at Nether Winchendon in Buckinghamshire. After Susan married a farmer’s son in February 1898, Elizabeth moved in with Susan and her husband at Hill Farm, where she would spend the rest of her life.

Elizabeth died at Nether Winchendon on 6 December 1941, aged 79.[3]
