Bessie was born at Codford St Mary on 29 July 1882, the youngest daughter of George and Susan Peach. Her mother was the daughter of John and Jane Swaffield.
In April 1871, her father was a farmer of 190 acres at Powerstock. Ten years later, he was a farm labourer at Mosterton. By April 1891, he was a groom at Muchelney.
In April 1891, Bessie lived in the household of her great aunt, Ann Read, at Partway Lane, Hardington. In March 1901, she lived with her parents at Willstock Cottages, North Petherton.
Marriage
On 7 October 1907, at Bridgwater, Bessie married George Eves, a baker, of Weymouth.
In April 1911, Bessie, her husband, two daughters and Bessie’s mother lived at 31 Ilchester Road, Weymouth.
George died on 26 September 1916, aged 36.
Widowhood
In June 1921, Bessie lived at 62 Chickerell Road, Weymouth, with her mother, two daughters, and two visitors (probably lodgers).
In September 1939 Bessie lived at 62 Chickerell Road, Weymouth, with two daughters.
She was still at that address when she died on 16 December 1957, aged 75. She left effects valued at £1,771-8s-5d.
Bessie and her husband had three daughters.
