Elizabeth Park was a Schoolmistress of the first school in 1861 and a School Mistress in 1871. She lived at Hardington Marsh.
Childhood at Melbury Osmond
Elizabeth was born at Melbury Osmond in about 1810, the wife of John and Elizabeth Barrett. John Barrett was a farmer who moved to Hardington before 1832.
First marriage
On 22 January 1835, at Crewkerne, Elizabeth married John Genge of Hardington. They set up a home at Hardington. John died in October 1846, aged 32.
Second marriage
In 1848, Elizabeth married William Park of Hardington. William was about sixteen years younger than her. In March 1851, they lived at Whitevine, where William was a farm labourer.
By April 1861, they had moved to Hardington Marsh, where William was a railway platelayer
Elizabeth and William were still in the village by April 1881, but Elizabeth had given up teaching.
Bridgend
In the early 1880s, William and Elizabeth moved to Bridgend. By September 1885, they lived at 24 Nolton Street, and William was employed as a delivery man by a soda water manufacturer.
William died on 5 October 1885 from injuries sustained when his horse and cart crashed down a steep embankment six days earlier.
Elizabeth remained at Bridgend, dying there in December 1888, aged 78

Elizabeth had three sons, two daughters with John Genge and one daughter with William Park.
