Lily Amelia Voizey

Lily Amelia Voizey was born at East Chinnock in 1895, the oldest daughter of Thomas and Amelia Voizey.  Her father was a saddler, and her mother was the daughter of a dairyman.

By 1897, her parents had moved to Barry Lane, Hardington.

In about 1908, her parents moved to Cary’s Farm.

In about 1910, Lily was a pupil teacher at Hardington school.

In April 1911, she helped with dairy work on the family farm.

In about 1912, she was the deputy organist and a choir member.

In June 1914, she tragically died of heart failure while working at Bushfurlong Farm, Isle Brewers, where she was in sole charge of cheese making.[1] She was only eighteen years old.
