Introduction

 George Beer was a farmer at Hardington during the 1820s. He later moved to Whitelackington, where he died in 1837.

Birth

George, the son of John and Anne Beer, was born at Hardington on 1 April 1788.[1]

Marriage

On 23 November 1820, George married Jane Daw at Corscombe by licence. The witnesses to the marriage were William Dawe and Susan Dawe.

Occupation

George was a farmer at Hardington until about 1829.[2]

Parish offices

George served as a tithingman from 1816 to 1821.[3]

Death

George died at Whitelackington in August 1837, aged 48, and was interred at Hardington.

Jane’s later life

By March 1851, Jane lived at Lyatts, East Coker.[4]

She died in February 1871, aged 78, and was interred at Hardington alongside her husband.

Children

George and Jane had three children: William Daw Snaydon, George and Susan Dawe Snaydon. Susan Dawe Snaydon married Ellis Brake.
