Robert Dommett worked for Albert George Squire as a baker in the winter of 1876-77.

Robert, born at Hillfarrance in 1848, was the son of James Dommett, a dairyman, and his wife, Mary Anne. His father died in 1851.

In November 1876, A. G. Squire advertised for “a steady, respectable man for the bakehouse.”[1] In February 1877, “R. Dommett,” a twenty-eight-year-old single man employed by Squire, advertised for a “situation as a baker.”[2]

In April 1881, Robert was a baker living with his widowed mother at Norton Fitzwarren. By April 1891, his mother lived alone, but Robert’s whereabouts are unknown.
