Birth
Roger, the eighth child of John and Hester Eastment, was born at Halstock in about 1740.
His father, John, died in May 1746.
Marriage
On 27 February 1775, Roger married Edith Bartlett, the daughter of Robert and Edith Bartlett, at Hardington by banns. Edith signed the register with a cross. The witnesses were Robert Bartlett and Robert Harris.
Occupation
Roger was a yeoman.
Death
Roger died in June 1811, aged about 71.
Edith died on 19 September 1821, aged 68.
Children
Roger and Edith had three sons and five daughters. They included John, who married Hester Apsey; Robert, who married Mary Guppy; Edith, who married Richard Genge; Hester, who married Mark Dodge; and Elizabeth, who married Robert Bartlett.

Executors: John Eastment, son, and Edith Eastment, the relict.
I give to my wife, Edith, the use and benefit of all my effects for four years, and after the expiration of that time, I give as follows:
Hester & Elizabeth, daughters: £100 a piece;
Hester, daughter: feather bed whereon she sleeps with the bedstead & furniture belonging & one sheet & blanket after my wife’s death;
Elizabeth, daughter: The feather bed whereon I sleep with the bedstead & furniture belonging with one sheet, one blanket & one quilt after my wife’s death
Dennis, son: 2s per week for life to commence after my wife’s death;
Robert, Edith, Hester, Jane & Elizabeth, children: £30 a piece after my wife’s death;
Edith Eastment & John Eastment, residuary legatees, wife & son: the residue.[1]
