Introduction
William Pullman was the tenant of White Vine Farm, Hardington, from the late 1820s until his death in 1833. He originally came from Netherbury and probably settled at North Perrott after his marriage in 1793.
Birth
William Pullman was born at Netherbury on 20 January 1768, the first of ten children born to John and Ann Pullman.
Marriage
On 4 February 1793, William married Mary Willment at North Perrott. At the time, William was 25 years old, and Mary was about 36. They both signed the register with a mark. The marriage entry states that William was of the parish of Beaminster and Mary of the parish of North Perrott.
Hardington
By 1828, William was a farmer at White Farm, Hardington, where he died in January 1833 at the age of 65.[1]
His estate was valued at “under £600,” and his wife was granted letters of administration and required to produce an inventory of her late husband’s possessions by 31 May 1834.[2]
Mary’s later life
After William’s death, Mary moved to North Perrott, where she died in February 1840 at the age of 83. She was buried alongside her husband at North Perrott.
Children
William and Mary did not have any children.
