William Rendell was a carpenter living at Hardington Marsh in 1861, 1871 and 1881. (A carpenter and sleigh maker in 1861).

William was born at Hardington in about 1807, the illegitimate son of Sarah Rendell.

William married Sarah Guppy at Hardington on 18 December 1832. Sarah had an illegitimate daughter, Jemina, who was two years old.

William and Sarah lived at Hardington Marsh. In 1843, they occupied the house in plot 582 of the tithe map.

William was a weaver in 1841 and 1851 and a carpenter and sleigh maker by 1860. According to the Hardington baptism register, he was a thatcher in September 1858.

A sleigh was part of a loom.

William died in 1883, aged 76; Sarah died a few years later (in 1886 or 1888).

William and Sarah had seven children as a couple, including James Gabriel Rendell, who became a Railway Inspector at Exeter.
